The "Just Getting Married Sex Jitters Blues"

A few weeks ago I had just finished watching Dr. Phil, and it got me worried. It was about couples who had lost the spark in their relationship and had grown apart physically. The couples seemed so bitter and sad all at the same time.

The thing is, I'm just getting married next month to my sweetheart, and we're one of those couples who is "saving themselves for marriage". That means neither of us has ever had sex. Seriously! So I got a little worried, because the whole thing is already so overwhelming for me -- sex and all. I'm not sure how everything's going to go in that department. I mean I think I'll like it and all, but what if there are parts I don't like?

What if we get tired of it?

As I was thinking these thoughts, two "coincidences" were about to come my way . . .

Just Then My Mom Called And Wants To Talk About Getting Married And Sex

First: OK, so I'm thinking these thoughts, and my mom calls. Good timing mom. But it turns out she was watching Dr. Phil, too. She called and she said, "you watching Dr. Phil?", "yeah", "well, what do you think?"

"What do I think? What do you mean, 'What do I think'?"

She said, "are you worried it's not going to turn out as good as you hoped?"

After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I spent most of the next hour opening up to her. And you know what she said?

She said, "There's a lot you have to do to keep the fire going over the years, but I just wanted to mention something that will help you eliminate some of the problems."

And then I heard words come out of her mouth that I never thought I'd hear come out of my devoutly Christian mother's mouth: "you need some SEX GAMES".

"WHAT?" I asked, half giggling.

"Sex games. That will help you keep the fire going. It's helped your father and me, you'll have to make them up as you go, but it will be fun, you'll see."

OK, so mom was trying to help, but it didn't really help. Since there's nothing I can do about it now, all I would do is worry about everything else, plus not having any sex games, too.

But then miracle of timing #2 occurred . . .

I get an email newsletter, and the author mentioned that an expert on relationships had just come out with a very classy book all about . . . can you guess? That's right: SEX GAMES.

Alright, so everything happens for a purpose, right. So I bought the book. It was like $18 or $19 or something, and we're just throwing money around anyway right now with the wedding and all, and so, why not? It promises to be "fun but not raunchy". Sounds good to me.

The neat thing is it was an instant download, so I started reading it right away, and all I can say is that I wish I didn't have to wait another month to get started *blush*. Seriously.

Anyway, if you're in a relationship, and you want to keep the spark alive, GET THIS BOOK. Seriously. But, then again, what do I know?
