Organized Registry's Wedding Planning Guide: The 4 Tools You Might Not Be Able To Do Without!
Wedding Planning Guide: Checkists and Calendars: The Most Basic Wedding Planning Tools
The simplest way to plan your wedding is to find a good checklist, and a calendar.
Then just schedule the items in the checklist onto the calendar.
This may sound "too"-simple, but planning a wedding can be done very well this way.
Organized Registry has a
wedding planning checklist for your convenience.
Many other sites offer these checklists, too. If you want to find others,
just visit Google, and search for "wedding planning checklist".
No checklist is perfect. Nor can it be.
Different couples have different ideas about what a good wedding is.
But we would love for our checklist to be as good a tool as possible,
so if you find that we have left out an important item,
please let us know.
Wedding Planning Guide: "My Organizer is My Best Friend!"
You might be saying this in a few months, if you step things up a notch, and invest in a bound wedding organizer.
You will be provided with many detailed checklists, worksheets, calendars,
places for addresses and phone numbers, timelines, and schedules.
Some brides swear that a good organizer can take the place of a good consultant!
I'm sure some even think a good organizer can take the place of a good man :)
Judging by the Amazon reviews, these seem to be the best organizers:
Your Perfect Wedding Planner
Easy Wedding Planner, Organizer, and Keepsake
The Knot's Ultimate Wedding Planner
Wedding Planning Guide: Software: "Now We're Talking!"
It gets even better. Or worse. It all depends on how much you like your computer!
A computer-based wedding planner is like an organizer on steroids.
Just like the paper organizer, it will provide you with many detailed checklists, worksheets, calendars,
places for addresses and phone numbers, timelines, and schedules. But ...
...it will also allow you to email everyone on your list in one shot.
It will print out your labels and envelopes for you from your address list.
It will quickly link you to online resources. And... best of all...(drumroll, please)... it will make you feel like a high-tech goddess!
Our favorite package is "My Wedding Companion"
from Fivestar Software. (see our review)
But these two are also satisfactory choices:
My Wedding Organizer from WeddingSoft, and ...
Wedding Magic from Frogware.
You can download a free copy from any of these vendors to try for a short time period.
Wedding Planning Guide: Professional Wedding Coordinators
Finally, you may want to hire a Professional Wedding Coordinator.
Though more expensive, an EXPERIENCED wedding coordinator can be a great help.
She or he will know many ways to do many things within a given budget.
Of course part of that budget must go to pay for her services.
But what can make a coordinator really valuable is if she has built
relationships with caterers, bakers, florists, musicians, etc.
This will give her the ability to
bring off a truly hassle free and glitch-free wedding.
To find a wedding coordinator, the best policy is probably to ask around among your friends.
Many wedding coordinators have yellow-pages ads, and many now have websites, too.
You can use the regional directory at Google, or just type in "wedding coordinator chicago" (substituting your city for 'chicago').
However you finally decide to plan your wedding, you know that weddings are expensive.
If you would like to find out how to trim possibly thousands of dollars off the cost of your wedding, without compromising the quality of your wedding, check out this wonderful money saving guide.
